The Karkonoska Pass

The Karkonoska Pass (1198 m n.p.m.) – divides the Main Ridge of the Karkonosze Mountains into two parts and is the lowest point in the entire ridge. It is located on the upper mountain forest floor on the Polish-Czech border. The Sudecka Road from Borowice to Spindleruv Młyn passes through it (the construction of which was started during the Second World War by prisoners and prisoners of war; completed in years 70. XX w., today it is inaccessible to cars due to the establishment of KPN). On the mountain pass, there is a shelter called "Rebirth”, and on the Czech side, the mountain hotel "Spindlerova bouda”.

In May 1990 r. at the Karkonoska Pass, the chairmen of Solidarity met” Lech Wałęsa and the President of Czechoslovakia Vadav Havel.
