Łomniczki cauldron

Łomniczki cauldron – the largest and deepest of the Karkonosze glacial cauldrons, undercutting the northern slopes of Równia under Śnieżka. It differs from other boilers because of the lack of moraines. The walls of the boiler reach a height 100 m. It is the source area of ​​Łomniczki and Złoty Potok. On the western slope of the boiler, The ravine of Łomniczki, a sequence of cascades, approx 300 m, forming the Łomniczki Waterfalls. Avalanches often occur in the boiler in winter, therefore, all footpaths and roads are closed.

Geographical feature names: Złoty Stok, Złoty Potok, The Golden Spring indicates the presence of gold here in the past. And actually – The Łomniczki boiler was the site of exploitation of this ore, known Wallons already in the 14th century.
